PSYCHEDELIC-ASSISTED RECOVERY:
Breaking the Stigma

Two Hours

Live

Virtual

$44

Psychedelic medicines have been used for thousands of years by people around the world for healing purposes, spiritual insight, and to become better human beings.  Despite their long standing history of traditional use and studies that showed their potential in helping to treat a wide array of conditions, these powerful catalysts became stigmatized in the late 20th century.

In this live, virtual workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn how the counterculture of the 1960's and subsequent "War on Drugs" led to the misunderstanding and criminalization of psychedelic medicines, the ways that they are being used today, and how they are becoming more accepted by society today.

Participants will:

  • Be exposed to the traditional use of psychedelic medicines by indigenous populations worldwide

  • Understand the history of psychedelic medicines in the treatment of substance use disorder

  • Gain insight into the history, use, and effects of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD)

  • Analyze the the factors that contributed to the stigmatization of psychedelic medicines

  • Evaluate two prominent research studies that are shaping contemporary public attitudes towards psychedelic medicines

Is This Workshop for Me?

Everyone that's in recovery from substance use is welcome.  People in abstinence-based recovery with no intention of ever using psychedelic medicines are encouraged to attend.

Certificate of completion will be provided
