The Basics of Psychedelic-Assisted Recovery has been designed to empower treatment professionals, coaches, and advocates by making them better informed, allowing them to be more understanding and supportive of people who use psychedelics as medicines.

In this live, virtual webinar, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the pathway of psychedelic-assisted recovery and how it is impacting the way that we view and treat substance use disorder.

Upon completion, participants will:

  • Be able to define the pathway of Psychedelic-Assisted Recovery (PAR)

  • Know the history of psychedelic medicines and how they were first used to promote recovery

  • Recognize the six distinct ways that people gain access to psychedelic medicines

  • Gain a basic understanding of nine commonly used psychedelic medicines

  • Learn more about the rapidly changing policy and legalities in the United States

Is This Workshop for Me?

Due to the content shared and the language used in the workshop, it is suggested that at a minimum, participants have completed recovery coach training or have comparable professional training/work experience.  People in abstinence-based recovery with no intention of ever using psychedelic medicines are welcome and encouraged to attend.

History of the Workshop

In its infancy, parts of the workshop has been offered at the Multiple Pathways of Recovery Conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado (May 2022) and Punta Gorda, Florida (January 2023), as well as on a Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services webinar (May 2022) and a Community for Addiction Recovery webinar (August 2022).

This workshop is non-clinical in nature and no medical or legal advice will be given.
